Today I have Sherry Gammon author of Unlovable in the spotlight!
Welcome to the blog Sherry, what Inspired you to write UNLOVABLE?
Indie publishing- Why do you think its becoming so popular?
It is VERY difficult to get and agent to look at your work. Not one agent would even read Unlovable. I tried. I did have ONE publisher look it over and they wanted me to change EVERYTHING. I said forget it! I felt the story was good, not perfect, but good and I hoped people would agree, so I self-published. I LOVE self-publishing. It is my story, and it hasn’t been remade into a publishers story. I even created my own trailer, which was soooo much fun!

UNLOVABLE has become a movie, who is playing your main character and why?
I actually have a Q and A group on Goodreads. We cast the movie already! LOL! Here is the list:
Lilly Collins for Maggie, Alex Pettyfer for Seth, Paul Walker for Cole, Karl Urban for Booker, and Demi Moore as the mom!!
Rosalie, Nikki Reed, is beautiful…as a brunette. They made her a blonde (like the girl in the book) and lost so much!! She’s a great actress and I think she plays the part well, but the hair is a complete distraction! I want someone who personifies the person in the book. I can get over blonde vs. brunette, I can’t get over sucky acting, like some in the Twilight movie, and again, I’m not referring to Ms. Reed as a bad actress. As I said, I think she did a good job despite the horrid wig, but SOME of the other actors… BLAH! Contrast that to the Harry Potter movies! They did a Great job all the way around…well, expect for Dumbledore number two!! Okay, I’ll get off my soap box!
What top three Indie books would you recommend to readers and why?
Heart on a Chain, OR anything else by Cindy Bennett. Great book, she is a really talented author, and I think you will enjoy her YA novels. The Keepers, by Jeffery Moore. He is amazing. He is a Fantasy/Sci Fi author! And anything by Stephanie Fowers!! Love her humor!
What’s on the horizon for SHERRY GAMMON?
I plan on finishing the Port Fare Series and move on to something a little more light hearted. I would also like to write a children’s book!
What do you want readers to walk away with after reading UNLOVABLE?
I want to touch their hearts. I want them to watch out for the Maggies (Male and Female) of the world and to love and help them. The world can be an ugly place and it doesn't have to be. We need to lookout for each other and not judge so harshly. Life is tough and you never know what is going on behind closed doors.
Sherry, thank you so much for being here today, I know plenty of bloggers have read and love Unlovable!! The world can be an ugly place, but stories like this can make it better......and Paul Walker of course, he makes the world LOOK better....:D
Today because Sherry is all kinds of awesome, she is giving away an Ebook copy of her book Unlovable. To enter please just leave a comment, winners will be announced at the end of the event.
Port Fare, New York, has fallen into the clutches of true evil. The Dreser brothers have arrived with a scheme to increase drug sales in the area by whatever means possible. Seth Prescott is part of MET (Mobile Enforcement Teams) a branch of the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration). He's been assigned to work undercover at Port Fare High, and things aren't going very well, until senior Maggie Brown enters the equation. He's harbored a secret crush on her from day one, and now that she is in the center of the case, he's trying to stay clear and objective while walking the line between business and unrequited love.
Maggie is truly the poster child for Heroin Chic, complete with jutting bones and dark-ringed eyes, but is she an addict, or is there another reason for her appearance? She struggles with her feelings for Seth, fearing he is just another person who will eventually let her down, as everyone in her life has done thus far.
Maggie has spent her life caring for her alcoholic mother. A task that has left her heavily burdened and alone. Before long, her mother's health takes a turn for the worst, sending Maggie's life into a tale-spin.
While Seth works relentlessly to inject fear into the dealers and flush them out into the open, Maggie fights to stay alive as the hunt turns deadly.
